7. Pandan Leaves

If you notice cockroaches in your vehicle, one of the best ways to get rid of them is using pandan leaves. It is common to see taxi drivers in Singapore and Malaysia using pandan leaves to repel roaches in their vehicles.

The volatile essential oils in the leaves contain mainly terpenes and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, as well as a major aroma component that accounts for the insect-repellent and attractant properties of these aromatic leaves.

A 2003 study by the School of Biological Sciences, National University of Singapore, reports that pandan leaves work as a natural cockroach repellent, though not the most efficient one.

However, it is a better option than synthetic repellents, such as DEET, that have undesirable effects on people and the environment.

Just keep some pandan leaves in areas where you see the small critters and soon they will vanish away.

8. Fabric Softener

Fabric softener works as an effective roach killer. These critters breathe through their skin, and when exposed to a soapy solution, they become suffocated and ultimately die.

  1. Mix equal amounts of fabric softener and water.
  2. Put the solution in a spray bottle.
  3. Spray the solution directly on the insects whenever you can. Also, spray it in places where you suspect hidden roaches.
  4. Repeat as needed.

  1. Boric powder, sugar and Wheat powder mixed with adequate quantity of water to make it as paste. Make small globules with this paste and place them i all vulnerable locations. Not only Cockroaches but also the cockroaches that eat the dead cockroaches would also die. This procedure is extensively used in word war 2 (as I read). I have utilized it and get rid of them.
The particular caution is vacate kitchen before applying it.

  2. Very effective insect spray. Fill a spray bottle with water and add good a squirt of dish-washing liquid or liquid soap. Give the bottle a shake. Every time you see a cockroach spray it with the soapy water. It kills them in seconds. From experience it also works, with spiders, ants and flies.

  3. Thanks for sharing natural pest control techniques to exterminate cockroaches.
