DIY chickpea flour ubtan

These are Indian ubtan (a paste that gives you glowing skin) recipes made with chickpea flour and red lentils. You can get these ingredients from an Indian market or some grocery stores.

After applying, these masks are supposed to be scrubbed off, thus providing the benefits of exfoliation. The scrubbing action helps pull away hair and make it grow back finer when you use the masks regularly.

Although this method is completely natural and will not damage your skin, it does not produce quick results. Expect slow but steady improvement within a few months.

Homemade hair removal beauty masks also help reduce a suntan and fade dark spots and blemishes. They are good for acne-prone skin, too.

Chickpea flour, also called gram flour or besan, is popularly used in beauty recipes because it helps cleanse the skin and absorb excess oil. Red lentils, also called masoor dal, work as an excellent scrub for your skin.

Ingredients like sandalwood powder, fuller’s earth (also called multani mitti), rose water, turmeric and milk cream are also beneficial for your skin.

Plus, when combined with chickpea flour or red lentils, they help make the hair removal masks more effective.
